I hit a nerve...
By Ronnie Nijmeh comment 0 Comments access_time 3 min read

Yesterday, I told you about how you can become your own WORST EMPLOYEE…

Well, the flood of replies tells me that I hit a nerve. 🙂

Most people agreed agreed with me that they haven’t been giving their business the RESPECT it deserves and that my simple 3-4 item checklist strategy was bang on…

Quick recap about my checklist method…

Execute just 3-4 tasks everyday that will DIRECTLY bring home the turkey bacon.

But there was one stand-out that decided to CHALLENGE me:

“Your checklist idea may work for you, but how am I supposed to know what tasks to focus on? And how am I supposed to outsource the rest? It’s easy for you because you’re the guru with outsourcers to do the work for you. What about the little guy like me. I can’t afford that.”
-Joe Chesney

Joe, I appreciate you reaching out and encouraging me to clarify!

Firstly, I’m no guru, nor am I interested in ever becoming one.

I’m all about getting you the results you deserve and interacting with you directly (that’s why I actually answer my emails… try getting through to a “guru”!)

Secondly, your checklist is all about focusing on the tasks that directly result in either:

  1. More highly qualified leads entering into your funnel
  2. More highly qualified joint venture partners you can work with
  3. More highly targeted products to sell to your existing customers

It’s about converting a lead into a customer, then a customer into a RAVING FAN.

That’s it. Anything outside of that core area isn’t mission critical for you to devote your day to.

So let’s say you sell an exercise home study DVD course. You can be the stock boy or girl
and fill boxes, print invoices, and make daily trips to the post office…

Or you can focus on recording more videos about why your DVD rocks, contacting potential JV partners to host a webinar for their list, or creating additional products or training to sell to existing customers.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, but you can see what I’m getting at: DO THE STUFF THAT MAKES YOU PROFITABLE.

And as CEO of your own company, you need to focus on the big picture stuff…

  • Mailing stuff isn’t the job of a CEO
  • Creating graphics isn’t the job of a CEO
  • Tinkering with WordPress isn’t the job of a CEO

And that brings me to the issue of outsourcing…

Outsourcing does NOT have to be expensive and you don’t have to take on full time staff. Not at all.

  • You can have a logo created for 5 bucks at Fiverr.com.
  • You can have WordPress installed or 5 bucks at Fiverr.com.
  • You can have trained pros take on simple tasks at FancyHands.com

And once you’ve gotten that far, it’s time to get back to the stuff that brings home the dough.

This isn’t difficult. The difficult part is being your own boss… setting your own deadlines…
and having the DISCIPLINE TO GET STUFF DONE.

No more excuses, it’s time to EXECUTE.

Carpe Diem,

Ronnie Nijmeh

P.S. You can’t change and stay the same. Impossible. If you REALLY want to succeed in your biz, then you have to do something differently.
