Hey, Ronnie here, founder of PLR.me. And in this video,
0:03
I want to show you how you can use Canva to transform your
0:07
plr.me articles into something. Absolutely beautiful. Now,
0:11
Canva is one of the most popular tools that our clients use.
0:15
And what I'm going to do is I'm gonna walk you through what I did to transform
0:18
one of our articles into a beautiful handout made
0:22
exclusively.
0:24
With Canva.
0:31
Before we begin, make sure you're subscribed.

0:41
We love to see that so we can continue making awesome training tutorial videos
0:46
to make the most use of your content and to help you grow your business. Okay.
0:50
So here I am in Canva and inside of Canva,
0:53
obviously they have a lot of beautiful templates.
0:56
Now what I'm going to do for the purpose of this video is to search for the
1:01
template called verticals.
1:03
So I'm just going to go ahead and do that now. And you see,
1:07
when you do the search, you just click on the article, uh, article templates,
1:12
and you'll start to see a bunch of different templates relating to articles.
1:16
Now these are absolutely beautiful.
1:18
This one particularly catches my eyes. It's nice to be a little three column,
1:23
really nice look to it. So I'm going to use that template for this example.
1:28
Now on the right, you see the article that I'm working with,
1:31
this is one of the pillar articles, all about living an authentic life.
1:35
And what I'm going to do is I'm just going to start moving, moving these, um,
1:39
the text into Canva. Okay. So first off,
1:42
what I'm going to do is put the title at the top.
1:44
So I'm not going to put it all into one box. I'm going to break it up.
1:48
So the joy of, and the put living, um, I put caps there.
1:51
So I'm just going to put it all lowercase, just extend the box a little bit.
1:56
So it fits nicely. Um, obviously I'm going to move the box,
1:59
make it centered and make it look. Um,
2:01
just like it's a sort of nice flow to the document here.
2:07
Now.
2:08
Copy that first box.
2:10
And I'm going to place it below at the bottom and put the rest of the title.
2:14
So the joy of living an authentic life now, of course,
2:18
I'm not rewriting this I could. Um, but for the purpose of this video,
2:22
I'm just redesigning, of course, please change the titles,
2:26
change the text, make it your own, add your own stories or images or whatever.
2:30
You'd like, um, definitely do that. So you can play with a positioning.
2:35
I moved the living in front of the text.
2:37
It kind of looks a little interesting there.
2:40
I think I'm going to move it back so that you see life in front of the word
2:44
living. Okay. So already this looks stunning.
2:48
Just all I did was edit the title and put that into canvas. Okay.
2:53
So now I'm just going to paste it into Canva, but you can see honestly,
2:57
canvas fantastic for graphics, but it's really not great for documents.
3:02
I know some of you, um, prefer to use canvas for everything and Hey,
3:05
that's totally fine. So I'm going to continue doing this,
3:08
but you can see that sometimes when you paste things, a format,
3:11
it gets a little weird or it adds line breaks or changes the font, colors,
3:14
all those sorts of things. Uh, so of course do, uh, you know,
3:19
just your mileage may vary and it might not always look great. Okay.
3:23
So now I'm going to paste it in.
3:25
I have to reformat it here and I'm going to change the colors.
3:29
Really try to stick to the document colors because that's just going to make
3:32
this whole document look unified, look, um, really beautiful.
3:36
Now this sentence here,
3:38
it's like a stone in your shoe that really stood out to me.
3:40
I'm going to bold that,
3:41
and I'm going to make that the same pink color as the title and just to make it
3:45
look a little bit neater. I like it left align and Hey, if you like a center,
3:48
that's great. Um, so I just made that left align for that title there.
3:53
Okay. So now this is a new,
3:55
an interesting article because right at the beginning, we start with a question.
3:58
So the question that we all face at some point is,
4:01
and then we have the actual question.
4:03
So what I'm going to do here is I'm just going to paste that in here. Um,
4:06
just the beginning part, and then we have this quote section in here,
4:10
which I think works really well for the actual question.
4:14
So I'm just going to move that up and I'm going to copy and paste the question
4:18
into that box. So again,
4:22
formatting's a little bit weird.
4:24
We're going to adjust it and make it a little bit wider. Um, I'm also going to,
4:28
to reduce the font size a little bit, make it left aligned, um, and,
4:32
and just make it look a little bit easier to read.
4:35
Of course I could also add line breaks or I'd all sorts of things,
4:38
but for the sake of this, I'm just going to keep it real, really simple.
4:41
And I'm just going to make it a little bit wider.
4:44
Now I'm going to move the quotes so that they're in the right place. Um,
4:47
I kind of like overlaying the quotes on top of it, the text, uh,
4:51
especially since it's, semi-transparent, it kind of looks nice and neat,
4:54
and now I'm going to continue. I'm going to move the,
4:56
the rest of the text boxes into the right place. Um, I'm going to,
5:00
one of the most important things when it comes to documents is you want to make
5:03
sure that there's white space, there's breathing space.
5:06
So I'm going to move things around a little bit.
5:08
So it doesn't just feel too cluttered. Um, it's becomes really,
5:12
really difficult to read when things are too cluttered.
5:14
So I'm just going to move things around and give it some white space here.
5:19
And the next step is I'm going to paste in the next part of the article. Now,
5:23
uh, as far as, uh, as far as I see,
5:26
canvas does not let you easily paste the text from one, um,
5:30
like paste all of the article and sort of automatically fill in the columns.
5:33
You have to paste it one little chunk at a time.
5:35
And so that's kind of the annoying thing. Uh,
5:38
and that's why this could take a little bit longer than say if you're using
5:40
Apple pages or even Google docs is a little bit easier for something like this.
5:45
Now I'm just one of the show you hear that I'm using the same font and the same
5:49
colors throughout. So the living authentically, that's a title.
5:52
So what I want to do is I want to make it match the same look and the same feel
5:56
as title of the document. So I'm going to turn that into Osmo.
6:01
I'm going to make it caps. Uh,
6:02
and then what I'm going to do is I'm going to change the colors.
6:05
So I'm going to select the text and I'm going to choose the color,
6:08
and I'm going to click on the document colors. Now, my,
6:10
I quickly noticed that this is not the same color. It's a little bit darker.
6:14
And in a part of this template,
6:16
what Canva did was they changed the transparency.
6:19
So I'm just gonna check that and click on the transparency here and you'll see
6:23
that, okay. It's 79 transparency.
6:25
So I need to make sure that the title is also 79 transparency,
6:30
just so we're consistent throughout the entire document. It looks professional.
6:34
Okay. So there we go. We have the title, it matches the same look,
6:36
the same colors, the same style. And, um,
6:40
I'm going to move things up a little bit to give me a little extra space here so
6:44
I can put, uh, some of that text below some of the, um,
6:48
paragraph texts under the living authentically title.
6:52
So now I'm going to copy and paste that text into the section here.
6:57
And, um, it's a little finicky, like I said,
7:01
because when you paste sometimes the form and he goes all haywire, you'll see.
7:05
And I have to change the fonts back and I have to make it look like the rest of
7:08
the body fonts. So I'm just going to go and go ahead and do that here. Okay.
7:12
So it's looking better. I still have to adjust some of the spacing. Um,
7:16
that again, that's a weird canvas issue. Um, so if you see that happen,
7:20
it's kind of annoying, but you just sort of have to deal with it. Um,
7:23
and I realized also that kind of looks a little bit better bolder, I think, um,
7:28
it can, your tastes, your, I might be different.
7:30
So I'm going to add the bolding and add a little bit of, um,
7:33
a space under the title. Now I'm just gonna move everything up.
7:37
So we're not too close to the edge of the document because you do want to have
7:41
space white space. Again, we talked about that.
7:43
So I'm just selected all of the text,
7:47
all of the text boxes and just shifted everything up.
7:50
And now I'm going to paste the next column. And again, you can see the format,
7:53
didn't get super weird here. It looks like times romaine or something odd. So,
7:58
uh, I'm just going to, you know, try to paste it properly.
8:01
And then I know I'm going to have to reformat re add the fonts and, uh,
8:05
the colors and bolding and all of that stuff. So again,
8:08
try to remember what fonts you're using, what font size, what font colors,
8:12
what font transparency, all of that stuff. Um,
8:15
because unfortunately it doesn't really maintain unless you're typing directly
8:18
into this document. And, um, in this case,
8:21
we're copying and pasting from the pillar article.
8:24
So you can see it doesn't look the same. And again,
8:26
it's because of the transparency. So I'm going to select, uh,
8:30
the transparency for this column and make it all 79.
8:34
And so that looks like, uh, the rest of the article.
8:38
Now I am going to go through and I'm going to bold the sections that are bolded,
8:42
um, again for consistency to make it look really nice and neat.
8:45
I'm going to use the document colors, and anytime I bolt something,
8:48
I'm always going to make it that pink color so that this document all fits
8:52
nicely together. Of course you can choose your own colors with candida.
8:56
You can add your own branding colors,
8:58
so you can always make sure that your colors are the same look and feel,
9:02
and your documents are all at the same look and feel, um, throughout. Um,
9:05
but for the sake of this demo, I'm just, just using the document colors in here.
9:10
Okay.
9:10
So I'm going to paste in the next section and this section there's bullets, um,
9:14
with peeler dummy content,
9:15
we do use a lot of bullets and numbered lists and things like that.
9:19
We love doing that because it makes the content so much easier to read. Um,
9:24
so what I'm going to do here, and this is really, really important, uh,
9:27
use the list function within, uh,
9:30
a Canva or within Microsoft office or Google docs, whatever you're using.
9:35
Um, it really makes things look a lot more, a lot neater and nicer. Uh,
9:39
so when you do that, it means that the line wraps and the spacing,
9:43
all that stuff is just really consistent. So I'm going to click on that.
9:47
Now we have the bullets that looks great. And, uh,
9:49
of course it is a little bit close to the edge at the bottom.
9:52
So sometimes what you can do is you can decrease the font sizes or edit words
9:57
out, cut some things out. In this case,
9:59
I'm just going to knock down the font a little bit until it fits onto four
10:03
lines, uh, or not, or five lines instead of six.
10:06
So now the edge looks bad, uh, better at the bottom of the page margin.
10:11
And I'm going to copy the next section. Now, of course,
10:14
this is a longer article.
10:15
So this does take a lot more time with canvas because you have to copy and paste
10:18
sort of one paragraph or a couple of paragraphs at a time.
10:21
It might be easier instead of doing three column, you could just do one column.
10:25
And that way, it's just a lot easier to pay some more content at a time.
10:29
But as you can see here, when you paste it, um,
10:31
it's sort of a formatting nightmare where you have to go in and always change
10:35
back. The font always change the font size, the transparency, all of that stuff.
10:40
Um, so it's just a bit of a hassle, but it is what it is.
10:44
So now I'm going to add the formatting I'm yeah.
10:46
The same formatting that I did for the previous head or the living
10:49
authentically. So it's Oswald, I'm going to make it the same font size. Um,
10:53
it doesn't fit. So I'm going to reduce the font size a little bit,
10:56
so it can fit onto one line. Um, you know, sometimes you can't,
11:00
sometimes the font size becomes too small to fit onto one line.
11:03
So you might just need to deal with two lines. Um,
11:07
and what I'm going to do is knock it down to that size, change,
11:11
the font color, and then the transparency.
11:14
So we're consistent with the rest of the document. Okay. So I,
11:18
one thing about Canva is again,
11:20
currently the numbered lists aren't really formatted nicely. Um,
11:24
so you'll see when I changed this to a number of lists, um,
11:28
by clicking on the bullet button,
11:29
you click it a second time and that makes it into a numbered list. Um, yeah,
11:33
you'll see, in a second here that it doesn't really work well because, well,
11:38
first of all, once you remove a space,
11:39
it deletes the bullet list or the numbered lists,
11:42
and then you've got to re-select everything re add the list,
11:46
but then you don't, you're not allowed to add space between it.
11:49
So if I try to add a space, then the second item now,
11:53
a one instead of number two. So for the sake of this,
11:56
I'm just going to leave it as a bullet. It doesn't need to be a list,
12:00
a numbered list. I'm just going to leave it as a bulleted list here. And like,
12:05
uh, before I'm going to bold that make it the same color, um,
12:08
and then do the same thing for the rest of these bullets. Okay.
12:12
So now it looks great. Now I do have the name here at the bottom.
12:16
You can go ahead,
12:17
obviously customize that at your own name at your own website and any
12:20
information you want. Um, I didn't complete the full article here, but, um,
12:25
this was just a quick sample of how I would go about editing this and just sort
12:29
of making it nice and consistent. So it looks fantastic.
12:32
And of course you see on the right,
12:34
it is the original word document on the left is the absolutely beautiful
12:39
redone version in Canva. Now to add a new page, uh, if you're,
12:42
if you've used canvas before, you know, you just click on add new page.
12:45
And what I would do is I would copy two of the columns, um,
12:49
over now I only copy two, not the three, because there was the quote.
12:52
If you want to add another quote, use the quote and then use the guides,
12:56
make sure you're using the guides that Canva has. You can see,
12:58
you can resize things. You can make it just two column, make it a lot bigger.
13:02
Um, but for consistency, I've just made it, um,
13:05
the two that just made it the same column width. So again,
13:09
it's the next step. Same as before, we're just going to copy and paste.
13:13
I'm not going to complete the whole thing,
13:14
cause obviously it's kind of boring to watch someone copy and paste,
13:17
but you get the idea here where it is a little repetitive,
13:20
but you want it to be consistent. You want it to look nice and neat,
13:23
the same transparency, the font fonts and font size and the font color.
13:28
So again,
13:29
bolding using the colors to match the same document styles
13:34
and that's pretty much it. So, you know, you get,
13:38
you go in there and copy the entire article when you're done.
13:41
You just click that download button and the PDF print is perfect.
13:44
Click on download,
13:45
and then you have a beautiful PDF that you created using Canva. Now,
13:49
of course you don't have to write from scratch. That's the beauty of all this.
13:52
You use the done for your content.
13:53
You can see canvas has so many different templates and examples and
13:58
great things that you can use.
14:00
But the beauty again is you're just grabbing and using the pillar on the content
14:04
and then reformatting redesigning.
14:06
And of course rewriting the content to suit your brand, to suit your voice,
14:10
to suit your examples. And again, super simple,
14:14
great way to use the content and a great way to use Canva.
14:17
If that's your tool of choice, fantastic, use it and use it well.
14:22
And these are just some of the ways that you can use, um,
14:25
the articles and transform it into beautiful PDs using Canva.
14:30
So that's it. That's how you use Canva. That's how you use the plr.me content,
14:34
using these templates to make something really stunning,
14:37
something beautiful that you didn't have to write from scratch.
14:39
And then you didn't even have to design from scratch because you're using these
14:42
beautiful templates on Canva. Uh, of course there are many templates on Canva.
14:47
You can go ahead and use any of them, uh,
14:50
and you can use of our plr.me content in canvas as well.
14:54
You could do the same for affirmations.
14:56
You can do the same for the inspirational graphics or checklists or worksheets,
15:00
eBooks, and so on. Um,
15:02
eBooks might be a little tough cause it's going to be a lot more formatted to
15:05
use in canvas. It's not impossible,
15:07
but you're better off using something like Google docs, uh,
15:10
Microsoft word or Apple pages if you're on the Mac,
15:14
but that's how you use canvas. I hope that was helpful.
15:17
And if you have any other canvas tips or tricks or hacks,
15:20
let us know in the comments,
15:22
did you enjoy how we transform that word document into something?
15:26
Absolutely beautiful.
